Your Stay in Nature’s Quiet Heart
A Quiet Stay in the Forest
Rest, Simplicity, and Mindful Living
Gorukana Eco Wellness Centre offers a quiet forest stay in the BRT Tiger Reserve (BR Hills), where life follows a gentler pace and days unfold with calm and ease. Surrounded by greenery, open spaces, and coffee and pepper plantations, the setting encourages simple living, quiet reflection, and a closer connection with the natural environment.
Spread across eight acres, the campus rests among silver oaks entwined with pepper vines and stretches of coffee that shape the hills of this region. A quiet lake along the edge of the property, open plantation trails, and secluded corners of the landscape all become part of your stay — as much as the room you return to.
Whether walking along quiet trails, sitting by the lake, or simply doing nothing at all — time at Gorukana follows nature’s own rhythm, where rest and a deeper connection with the natural world come naturally.
In this stillness, you begin to sense the deeper connections that shape this place — a living whole, of which you quietly become a part.

Cottages: Simple Comfort, Inspired by the Wild
Balcony with view
The cottages at Gorukana are built in harmony with the surrounding landscape, with thatched roofs, stone-clad exteriors, and rustic wooden interiors that reflect a simple, eco-friendly way of living. Each cottage is named after local wildlife, inspired by the biodiversity of the BRT region.
Designed for families and small groups, each cottage features a queen-sized bed and an upper wooden loft with two single beds, offering a comfortable shared space.
A private balcony opens out to views of plantations, hills, and surrounding greenery, offering a quiet place to sit and take in the landscape.
With high sloping roofs and tall glass windows, the cottages are filled with natural light and fresh air. Naturally ventilated and designed without air conditioning, they remain comfortable in the hill climate throughout the year. Skylit ensuite bathrooms bring in soft daylight, while clean, simple fittings provide everyday comfort.
Tree House: Up in a Tree, by the Lake Edge
The Treehouse sits at the far edge of the campus — raised above the ground, built into a single tree, with open views of the hills, surrounding greenery, and the lake below. Set apart from the cottages, it offers a sense of natural seclusion and stillness, unlike anywhere else on the campus.
Designed as a room in the trees, it features a queen-sized bed and an outdoor-style bathroom, with wide openings and a raised sit-out that keep the space simple and open. The sounds of birds, wind, and leaves become part of the experience, with the lake in view and trees all around.
The Treehouse is best suited for those who value quiet, privacy, and time close to nature — and who are comfortable with a simple, open space that brings the outside in.

Before You Stay
Life at Gorukana
Mindful. Simple. Natural.
A stay at Gorukana is a simple way of living, close to nature — in harmony with the natural surroundings of the BRT Tiger Reserve. The landscape here is alive — at night, at dawn, in the rain, and in the dry heat. Insects, birds, reptiles, and animals will become part of your experience in ways we cannot predict or control.
This is not an inconvenience — it is the landscape being itself.
We ask one thing: meet it with openness.
The campus is quiet and eco-friendly by design, encouraging rest, reflection, and a rhythm set by nature.
- Natural Surroundings: The campus is set among plantations, trees, and open land, and insects, frogs, or small reptiles will occasionally be seen in the rooms. This is part of the natural environment we live in and care for.
- Simple Living & Natural Comfort: The cottages are naturally ventilated and do not have air conditioning. Built to stay in balance with the climate of the hills, the spaces remain airy and comfortable without excessive use of energy.
- Simple Meals, Fresh Ingredients: Meals are prepared using fresh, local ingredients and served in a simple, home-style manner, reflecting the centre’s focus on wellbeing, balance, and sustainable living.
- Low-Distraction Stay: There are no televisions in the cottages, and mobile network connectivity is limited, creating a quiet, low-distraction environment that encourages time away from screens and closer connection with nature.
- Quiet & Smoke-Free Campus: To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, the campus is smoke-free and alcohol is not permitted.
The stay is best suited for guests who are comfortable with a simple, nature-based setting focused on tranquility, wellness, and connection with the natural surroundings, rather than a conventional luxury hospitality experience.
Come to nature. Come to wellness. Come to connection.
Come because some journeys give back more than they take.
